As on the title, what are some of the thoughts of the local fantasy scene on the Age of Sigmar?

I'm local-ish (Knoxville). Not overly impressed to be honest. When a company turns around and makes a drastic direction change like GW has done, I would expect a much more interesting set of releases to help bolster the launch. The Stormcast models are all REALLY similar looking, so there's no great depth to that range. The hardback book is also equally shallow, coming across as very lackluster when compared to any of the End Times publications.

I'll give them until after WFB masters to pique my interest again. At that point I will bail to other game systems.

Local means TN here.  I've seen some of the national thoughts on the changes and had actually sold my army before the End Times hit full steam.  I mostly wanted to hear our community's opinion on the new game.  On paper, it did seem a bit thin to me and the new models don't appeal to me either (basically space marines with swords, bows, and wings - and WHY does an archer need that much armor??), but I still want to see what happens when you push those models across the table.

I've seen some of the vehement hate at the death of 8th and if you fully invested in the End Times books, I can understand why.  You invested all of this money in their system and they killed it.  If they had led up to the End Times saying they would kill it, you couldn't feel so bad, but they probably wouldn't have had the sales either.  There is also some theorizing that sales may have directed the way the story ended. . .

Is the local scene going to just keep playing 8th?  Go into other systems?  Where do each of the TNWargamers community see themselves going?

I've moved on to KIngs of War completely and I'm not looking back.  The rules really work better for me as a casual / semi regular tournament player.  Also Mantic is a refreshing change to Games Workshop and I look forward to seeing this game continue to evolve and develop for years to come.
