On March 15, 2014, Dicehead Games in Cleveland, TN will host a Brawler Bash Warm-up Tournament. For those of you who do not know, Brawler Bash is a 2-day, 3,000 point tournament held every year in Durham, NC. This year's event, which will be held in May, has over 90 people signed up, making it one of the largest Warhammer Fantasy Battle tournaments ever to be held in the South. Dicehead's warm-up tournament gives everyone a taste of the event and the chance to win free admission to the nearly sold-out event. If you are planning on going to the Bash, it's a great chance to practice. If you couldn't get a ticket, you'll have a chance to win one. If you are not interested or not able to go to Brawler Bash, it's a great chance to experience some very interesting rules and have a great day of wargaming fun.

Here's a summary of the event:

  • 3 games of Warhammer Fantasy Battles
  • 3,000 point armies; no grand armies
  • Carnage scoring system
  • Brawler Bash tournament scoring for the following store-credit prizes: Best Overall, Best General, Best Painting, and Best Sports
  • An additional prize for Best Club (certificate only)
  • A raffle of all tournament participants interested in attending Brawler Bash VII. The winner will receive a free Brawler Bash VII tournament entry.

All of this is covered in your $20 entry fee (payable the day of the tournament). You can check out the Brawler Bash rules using this link: http://www.bullcityw.../BBVIIPack.pdf

I have included a copy of the tournament flyer. If anyone has a local gaming spot in which they would place this flyer, I would really appreciate it.

I've attached the tournament pack at the bottom of this message. Go ahead and sign-up in this thread (include your club name if your club wants to compete for the club prize)!

Tournament Participants:

1) Ashley K. (Dicehead)
2) David F. (Rolling Bones)
3) Jason E. (Fighting Cocks)
4) Bryan H.
5) Tim (Laughing Corpses)
6) Kenneth O.
7) Jeff S. (Rolling Bones)
8) David R. (Rocket City Gamers)
9)  Will Guinn (Dicehead)
10)  Todd P. (Laughing Corpses)
11)  Chase (Dicehead)
12)  Aaron (Dicehead)
13)  Joe Smith (Rocket City Gamers)
14)  Ben Mitchell (Risky Business)
15)
16)

and a carload of Huntsville folks.

Well that date knocks me out of playing. You all have fun and hope you have a good turnout.

Unfortunately, Easter weekend will have me out too.  I haven't made it to a gaming table in over a month now :(

I did not catch that being Easter. The only other day that Shane and I had was March 15. Would that work any better?

I think that would probably be better but that weekend is my dad's birthday so I may have to see him on Saturday. March and April are really tough times on my schedule. There is literally about something every weekend.

I think that might work for me!  I'll try to clear the schedule for that weekend.

Do you have a link to the Carnage scoring system?

The rule pack looks awesome.  I will be available to play on the 15th of March even if there is not an event hosted then.  Sci-Fi Genre is where I bought my first batch of GW paints.

It looks like we have permission to move the event to March 15.  I'll need a mod. to change the date in the heading.  I've added the player's pack to the original post (which includes the scoring).  Check it out and see if anything needs clarification (basically just ripped of Brawler Bash and changed the scoring to reflect three games instead of 5).  I'm going to go ahead and sign up Ashley.  If anyone else wants to sign up, just post in the thread.

A point of clarification:  armies do not have to be painted to participate or win prizes.

Brawler Bash is uncomped. It's offset a bit by te fact that winning and losing don't really matter.

We have two members of Rolling Bones.  If we can get one more Fighting Cock and one more Laughing Corpse, we can have a proper team competition.
